Our bodies are remarkable communicators, provided we pay attention! They possess an inherent resilience and usually find a way to function, even when faced with challenges. When strength and mobility fall short, the body resorts to compensation patterns to execute movements. These patterns often develop when a muscle or muscle group can't adequately facilitate joint movement through its full range. Likewise, they can form when a joint experiences restricted mobility, regardless of muscular strength.

However, these compensation patterns are merely short-term solutions and eventually lead to breakdowns. The silver lining is that the body has an innate capacity to self-heal; it just requires a facilitator who genuinely listens to its signals, often expressed in the form of discomfort.

This is where my expertise comes into play. After obtaining my massage therapy certification from the Healing Arts Institute in Ft. Collins, CO in 2003, I have continuously expanded my understanding of the human body and its mechanisms. By drawing upon my knowledge of Functional Range Systems, CranioSacral Therapy, Proprioceptive-Deep Tendon Reflex, Neural Manipulation, Facilitated Stretching, and IASTM, I can evaluate your body's specific requirements and provide appropriate treatment.

While I still offer conventional massage therapy services, I have shifted my focus to joint mobility training and education. The more knowledge you acquire, the better equipped you are to alleviate your pain and enhance your mobility independently.

“Monica is absolutely phenomenal! I have had chronic neck problem's for years and I have been through everything you can imagine from PT, acupuncture and burning my nerves. When I found Monica, she alleviated so much pain for me. I can honestly say, she is by far the best massage therapist I have been to.” — Shauna H.
